Halloween class parties

Eden had her class party the day before Halloween.  She helped me make these witches hats to take to her party.
She got to play a jack o lantern bean bag toss game and a spider ring toss game.
They also played a giant candy corn bowling game but I didn't get a picture.  I was probably chasing Ty.  But here is a picture of Eden and her friend Kenzie.
The next day was Addison's party. I went and helped with her party.  I had two games for the kids to play.  . . A ring toss game played with witches hats, and the fishing pond game we played at the carnival.  The kids got to "fish" for a Halloween prize.  We had vampire teeth, and Halloween whistles, bat & ghost finger puppets, and plastic spiders.  I once again i didnt get many pics because I was behind the curtain clipping prizes to the fishing line.
Addison got lots of treats.
Her teacher put all the kids desks in the shape of a jock o lantern.
It was a great party!

Ty 12 months

Ty just had his 12 month appointment.  He is actually 13 1/2 months (we were a little late getting him in).  He was his usually silly self.  Laughing at the doctor.  Making the doctor and nurses laugh.  Until he got his 4 shots.  Yes, 4.  Poor kid.  Four is the max.  I don't think I could have sat through one more.  It is torture for me to watch.
His measurements this time were:
Weight: 23 lbs, 45%
Height: 28.5", 83%
Head circumference: 48 cm, 92%

Things Ty is doing now.
•WALKING!!  He started walking a few weeks ago, right about 13 months old.  Addison walked at 10 months.  Eden walked at 14 months.  So Ty was in between the two girls.
•He likes to watch Barney and Strawberry shortcake (thanks to his sisters). He will laugh at certain parts of the show like he knows what is going on.  It is really funny to watch.
•He LOVES being outside.  He could play outside in the dirt all day.  This winter will be tough, being inside all the time.
•He loves to ride the 4 wheeler and on the back of my bike.
This was a few months ago, but he would push my arms away when I was trying to get him out from his bike chair.
•He is still a mess maker.  He loves to sneak into my bathroom when someone forgets to shut the door and DESTROY everything.
•He is a great sleeper!  He takes a two hour nap during the afternoon and sleeps 12 hours at night.  It's soooo wonderful to have my full night sleep back.
• His favorite foods are sting cheese, yogurt, bread, and fruit snacks.
He is an absolute joy.  We love him so much!

Ty's first haircut

Ty got his first (much needed) haircut.  He has needed one for a long time. I had been putting it off for a couple of reasons.  First, I thought it was going to be a nightmare trying to have him hold still. Second, I was a little attached to his hair.  I felt like cutting it was going to make him look grown up. . . And it did. But, he surprised me and sat really still for the first 10 minutes.  The hair dresser did a speedy haircut.  I only had to struggle holding him still for the last few minutes.  I think he was mesmerized by the new environment and sound of the clippers.
(funny thing. . . Eden took this picture. I had no idea until I was looking through my pictures one day. .  Pretty good for a 4 year old).
He sure did look older after he was all cleaned up.  I can't believe how his hair has changed over his first year of life.
Hair at 6 weeks old
One year old-pre haircut
One year old-post haircut
Now that I have had a few days to get used to it, I really like his new do.  But some days I do miss his shaggy long blonde hair :)

Ty turns 1!

Today is Ty's first birthday!!!  His first year of life flew by so fast!  Sadly Ty had a cold on his birthday, but he was still pretty happy.
We celebrated with just our little family.  After dinner, we gave Ty his own cake smash cake.  We made him a baseball cake.
And cupcakes for the rest of us.
As destructive as Ty is, I expected him to really destroy his cake, but surprisingly he didn't!  He stuck one of his hands in the cake and then just sat there and starred at his hand like "now what." The girls were disappointed.  They wanted to see a real show, but he wouldn't deliver.  The one time I was allowing him to make a real mess, he wanted nothing to do with it.
After we cleaned up his one hand, he opened his presents.
His favorite gift was his new carseat!  Yay no more pink carseat!!!  He climb in it, sat in it, and played with the buckles.
Ty has been such a joy.  His sisters adore him and always want to be around him.  Marshall loves having another male in the house and Ty loves his Dad! I just can't get enough of Ty. He is such a mamas boy, but I wouldn't want it any other way!  We are so happy he is a part of our family!  Happy Birthday Ty man!

1st day of Preschool

Eden's first day back to preschool was Monday. This is her second year at St. John's Preschool.  Her teachers are Miss Honi, Miss Toni, and Miss Shannon.  She was very excited to go back.  Her preschool is Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.  She also has a speech class on Tuesday mornings for 2 hrs at the elementary school.  Her speech has really improved from last year but they still thought she could use the speech therapy again this year.  She gets to ride the bus with Addison to speech. She thinks that is pretty neat.  We love Eden and her spunky personality.

Peaches & pears

I need to toot my own horn for a minute. This week I canned 29 quarts of peaches  and 25 quarts of pears.  This is the first time I have canned anything by my self. It took a lot of time but it will be well worth it this winter when we can eat yummy fruit.
Canning is something my mom did a lot of when I was a kid.  We always had a huge garden and she would can green beans, tomatoes, carrots, peaches, pears, salsa, jams, etc.  I love that's she taught me by example the importance of having a food storage and taking care of her family.  I only did fruit this year.  Marshall says if the world comes to an end we will at least have meat and fruit to survive on.  :)

Ahoy it's a Boy

I was very lucky to have an amazing group of friends in high school.  I think it is rare to find friends like mine.  We still try to keep in touch and love excuses to get together.  Thanks to Amanda, we got to get together for a baby shower.  Michele (Hillman) Rowell hosted it at her mom's house in Blackfoot.  Amanda is pregnant with her first baby, a boy.  She is beaming with the pregnancy glow.  I was in charge of the game.  I had to do the guess the candy bar inside the diaper game.  It totally grossed out Amanda (she has never in her life changed a diaper). It was funny to watch the reactions and facial expressions as each new diaper was revealed.
Debra, and Stacey were the winners.  Funny coincidence. . . They both have the most kids out of all of us (4 each).  Stacey said diaper changing is her life.  It was so great to see all theses ladies!
