Ty - 4 months old

I can't believe how quickly time flys! 4 months already! Things Ty is doing at 4 months:
He has rolled one time from his back to his belly (we think). We didn't see it. We left him on his back and came back in the room and he was on his belly. That was 2 weeks ago . . . we're still waiting for him to do it again :)

Squealing- Especially between 4:30 & 5:30 every morning! He is an early riser, and is ready to jabber when he wakes up! I have a feeling if we don't move him to his crib soon, Marshall might be moving to the hide-a-bed :). He isn't a big fan of the 4:30 am cooing! Plus he is about outgrown the bassinet.

He is a very social baby! He smiles at everyone! He gets so excited when people talk, play, and pay attention to him.

He is starting to grab things we put in front of him, then immediately puts everything in his mouth.

He is drooling a lot. I'm hoping that isn't a sign of teeth. I don't know if I'm ready for teeth!

We just tried giving him rice cereal. He was a fan! We started off making him a really small serving incase he didn't like it (the girls would never eat rice cereal) then 3 bowls later he was finally full :) seriously, this kid can eat!

He also just had his 4 month check up.

Weight: 16.2 lbs, 68%
Height: 25", 45%
Head circumference: 44.2cm, 89%

During his checkup he had the giggles and the doctor and nurse were eating it up! At one point we were all laughing.  Anytime the doctor would touch him with the stethoscope, look in his ears, feel his belly, look in his mouth, etc., he would laugh so hard! I was wishing I could video it, it was too cute! The doctor jokingly asked if he could keep him the rest of the day! Then. . . He got his shots and the giggles went away. . . SAD!

Ty Has the BEST big sisters, who are always  loving on him!

"Hot Lava"

Saturday we took the kids to Lava Hot Springs to swim. Addy kept calling it "hot lava" :)
We thought the hot pools would be too hot for Ty so we swam in their indoor pool. The water temperature was 90 degrees and the building was probably like 80 degrees. . . Perfect! The kids had a ball! I was worried about Ty getting cold but he didn't even shiver once. Addy and Eden were both brave in the water. . . they dunked their heads all the way under (they've been practicing in the bath tub). This is a big deal for those two! Marshall was a fan of the rock wall in the water. I tried to climb it but wasn't strong enough. I did however jump off the diving board once. :)
The girls didn't want to leave (after 3 hrs of swimming)! It was a fun solution to our wintertime cabin fever!

Show & Tell

Grandma Marilyn got Addison a subscription to the children’s friend magazine for Christmas.  The first magazine came last week.  Addison was so excited to look through it.  Then, Addison cut out this page. . .

She told me she cut it out because she was going to take it to show and tell at school on Thursday.  (I tried to keep a straight face)  I told her I was very happy that she loved the story about Joseph Smith and wanted to share it with her school class, but schools don’t’ really like to have discussions about church topics, but she could tell us the story during family home Evening, which she did.  Such a funny girl!

Youth Basketball

We signed Addison up for youth basketball this year.  Basketball is both mine and Marshall’s favorite sport to play, so we were hoping Addison would like it too.  It may be a bit too early to tell if she will like it when she is older, but this picture shows how into it she wasn’t. . . .

All the action is happening behind her, and she is completely oblivious to it! ha ha
Marshall coached her team. She said she would play if Marshall was her coach.  Marshall was a great coach, but he said it was really frustrating at times.  It didn’t help that Marshall picked 3 preschoolers (the age group is suppose to be Kindergartners and 1st graders so I’m not sure how preschoolers were able to sign up) but Marshall didn’t know any of the kids when he went to the draft meeting.  He ended up picking the youngest, shortest kids!  It made for an entertaining season!

By the last game, Addison was showing a slight bit of interest in what was going on.  She actually got a few rebounds, shot the ball once, and would run after the ball rather then stand with her arms inside her shirt (as she did the first few games).  All in all, it was a good experience!

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas season this year.  We started off our Christmas festivities by participating in a Christmas service project.  My cousin’s family is living in Argentina.  They asked a few people to send a few stickers to them as they were trying to give 50 kids in Argentina, who otherwise wouldn’t get any gifts, a Christmas sack which would include stickers.  In Argentina stickers are expensive and hard to come by, so the kids love them.  We wanted to participate.  My girls each picked out some stickers and we sent them to Sharee and Jared.  The "sticker project" snowballed as people shared on different social networks.  They were able to give to so many more kids and they teamed up with the LDS missionaries and other church groups.  If you would like to read more about the amazing project go to www.thewolfleyfamily.blogspot.com and there is a link on the left hand side of the page called The Sticker Project.  It was fun to watch and read about the kids that they were helping.  It feels good to be able to serve in a small way.

Next we made a gingerbread house.  The girls really got into it this year and they had fun sampling the candy too!

Eden had a class party this year in her preschool class.  They played a fun game where they would throw snowballs (giant marshmallows) at the snowman and try to get them through the holes in his body.

The kids did a gift exchange.  Eden got a cut fairy doll.  The teachers also gave all the kids a gift (the baby doll).  Eden was so excited!

Then the kids ate their Christmas treats (Eden’s favorite part!)

We went to the Jones annual Christmas party in Blackfoot.  We had dinner, played games, the kids decorated gingerbread men, had a talent show, and a nativity.  And of course the kids favorite. . . Santa came! The girls were so excited to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.  Santa brought them each a little gift.

Santa also brought Marshall a lump of coal (Marcie and Ryan may have had something to do with this!)  Marshall was a good sport, but I have a feeling Santa may be bringing Ryan something next year he he!

We spent the night on Christmas Eve at Grandma Marilyn’s house. Addy was a little concerned that Santa wouldn’t know where to find her, but luckily he did.  The kids got lots of fun new toys. Eden was so cute, after anybody opened a gift she would very enthusiastically say “YOU WANTED THAT!”

Santa brought Ty this little chair.

Marshall got a handgun he has been wanting.  I actually kept it a surprise from him.  He didn’t know he was getting it.  I was proud of myself for pulling it off!   Marshall got me gelish nail cure thingy, and the gel nail polish that you use with it.  After you paint your nails with the special polish, you cure them in this led light thing and the polish stays on for at least 2 weeks without chipping.  I was excited!
We went to Grandma & Grandpa Jones’ house for Christmas lunch.  It was fun to see all the cousins (except Larsen’s in ND and Mathews because Carlie had pink eye).  We did cousin gift exchange and the adult white elephant exchange a few weeks before Christmas when Mckenzie was in town for Scott’s wedding.
Then we went back to Rigby to get together with Marshall’s family.  This was the first year we were able to draw names with cousins on Marshall’s side. Since having Ty, both our family and Marshall’s brother’s family have 3 kids.  The kids have so fun playing together. We had great food, great company, and just a good, relaxing time.
This is the kids holding their light up toys that Grandma let them open on Christmas Eve.

Christmas is such a special time spent with family.  We love it and look forward to it every year.
Oh, and I can't forget Addy's letter to Santa ...
We have had a great 2012.  We feel so blessed to have Ty, our new addition to our family this year.  The girls have grown a lot! Addison started kindergarten this year and Eden started her first year of preschool.  Marshall got through the first year of his new job.  I have loved my new calling in the primary presidency.  We have had a wonderful 2012 and look forward to new adventures in 2013.
